PetsOnMe Pet Insurance review

Established 2007, three-tier product structure ($5k/$10k/$20k limits), Pacific International-backed, but the lowest customer rating in our directory (3.9★ across 18 reviews) and a deliberately leaner cover than the Tier-1 PetSure brands.

The short version

PetsOnMe was established in 2007, distributed through Pets On Me Insurance Pty Ltd as an authorised representative of Steadfast IRS — a different distribution structure to the Knose Financial Services-led Pacific International brands (Knose, Pet Circle).

The product is structured as three tiers: Accident ($5k limit), Classic ($10k limit), Deluxe ($20k limit), all at 80% reimbursement (no flex on the percentage). Behavioural conditions are excluded entirely. Dental Illness is only covered on the Deluxe tier with a $500 sub-limit. Routine care isn't offered.

ProductReview rating (3.9★ across just 18 reviews) is the lowest in our directory by some margin. Trustpilot rates them 3.8/5. The brand wins industry awards ("Provider of the Year 2025") but consumer feedback is more divided than competitors. Treat the small sample size with appropriate skepticism — 18 reviews isn't statistically representative.

Score breakdown

v1.1 of the Insu Score weights four components. PetsOnMe scores well on the dimensions covered; affordability is pending until our premium estimator launches.

Coverage depth22 / 45

Three-tier structure ($5k/$10k/$20k limits) gives some flexibility but the top tier ($20k) is below RSPCA's $35k or Knose's $25k. Single 80% reimbursement option — no 70% or 90% flex. Behavioural excluded entirely. Dental capped at $500 on top tier only. No routine care.

AffordabilityTBD / 30

Pending quote sample. Three tiers at $5k/$10k/$20k make benchmark comparison ($15k benchmark) require interpolation.

Trust signals12 / 15

Pacific International underwriter (APRA-authorised). Established brand (2007 — 18+ years). Distributor structure is different from other Pacific International brands (Steadfast IRS rather than Knose Financial Services) — worth noting but not penalised.

Customer experience5 / 10

3.9 stars across only 18 ProductReview ratings — lowest average AND lowest review volume in our directory. Trustpilot 3.8/5. Wins industry "Provider of the Year" awards but consumer satisfaction is mixed. Treat small sample with caveats.

PetsOnMe's 41/100 partial reflects narrower coverage and lower customer ratings than Knose/RSPCA — both also Pacific International-backed but with different products. If you're set on a Pacific International policy, Knose has higher ratings AND broader product flexibility. How the score is calculated →

What we liked

  • Three-tier structure ($5k / $10k / $20k limits) lets you match cover to budget without complicated optional add-ons
  • Established brand — 18+ years of operating history (longer than Knose or Petsy)
  • Alternative therapy cover (acupuncture, physio, hydro) on all tiers when vet-recommended
  • Pacific International APRA-authorised underwriter — same financial backing as Knose, RSPCA, Pet Circle
  • Won 2025 "Provider of the Year" industry award (worth verifying which body and weighting)

What to think about

  • Lowest ProductReview rating in our directory (3.9★) — though only 18 reviews so small-sample caveat applies
  • Behavioural conditions excluded entirely on all tiers — major gap for many breeds
  • Dental Illness only on Deluxe tier and capped at $500 — limited compared to RSPCA's bundled dental
  • Single 80% reimbursement option — no flex to dial premium up or down via percentage
  • No routine care add-on offered — competitors with routine care included may be better value if you'll use it

Same underwriter as 4 other AU brands

PetsOnMe is underwritten by Pacific International Insurance — the same underwriter as four other Australian pet brands:

Knose RSPCA Pet Insurance Pet Circle Insurance Fetch Pet Insurance

Same underwriter doesn't mean identical product — pricing, benefit tiers, and add-ons vary by brand. But your claim is paid by the same company regardless of which logo is on the policy. More on the Pacific International family → (coming soon)
