About Insu
An independent Australian publisher building a pet insurance comparison site that earns its rankings.
Who runs Insu
Insu is published and edited by Jarrod, an independent Australian publisher. Full editorial bio, editorial standards, citation policy, and verifiable identity at About the Editor.
The site is part of a small portfolio that also includes Lighthouses (a directory of Australian lighthouses), GPScout, DentistScout, ProviderScout, DecisionLab, SortedAus, and several other Australian directory and comparison sites.
What we're building
Insu compares Australian pet insurance products and ranks them via the Insu Score — a 0–100 weighted ranking across coverage depth, affordability, trust signals, and customer experience.
We publish:
- In-depth reviews of every major Australian pet insurance brand
- "Best for X" comparison tables (best for older dogs, cheapest accident-only, etc.)
- Plain-English explainers of waiting periods, excesses, pre-existing conditions, and the dozens of other terms hidden in PDS documents
- A premium estimator so you can see what you'd actually pay before handing over a phone number
How we make money
Two ways:
- Affiliate commissions. When a reader clicks through to an insurer and buys a policy, the insurer pays us a commission. Affiliate relationships are disclosed on every page containing an affiliate link.
- Display advertising. We plan to run Google AdSense after launch.
Importantly: the Insu Score is calculated independently of affiliate status. An insurer's score is not influenced by whether we earn a commission from them. The methodology is published in full.
What we're not
We are not a financial adviser, insurance broker, or insurer. We do not hold an Australian Financial Services Licence (AFSL) and we don't provide personal recommendations. Information on Insu is general in nature and doesn't take your individual circumstances into account. Always read the relevant Product Disclosure Statement (PDS) before buying any insurance product.
